SUMMER CAMP

June 23-26

There are two camp options:

  • Technique Camp – This is the FOLKSTYLE camp. It offers two different levels of instruction (Advanced & Beginner)
  • Fargo Training Camp – This is an intense training camp designed to get athletes prepared for the USAW National Championships and other Freestyle and Greco-Roman events.

Both of these camps allow wrestlers to compete on the teams and competitions during camp.

Fight Like A Girl!

June 23-26

First ever Girls wrestling camp in Delaware!

The Howell family has developed their camp with a unique blend of technique, competition and live matches with tournament competition. Now the Howells are offering that same formula for girls. Not only will girls get all the technique sessions that boys will get, but now they will get live competition with girls only and on a girls only team.

Two of the camps Featured Clinicians are accomplished female wrestlers. Alyssa Mahan, 2x NHSCA All-American and collegiate wrestler at D I Presbyterian College will be teaching for two days. In addition, this year will also feature another home-grown product in Emily Thode.

Girls will join the boys for all of the technique and team competitions. However, girls will have the first ever ALL GIRLS DUAL MEET. In addition, the end of the week tournament will feature an ALL GIRLS DIVISION.

Fargo Training Camp

June 23-26

This camp will specialize in developing and training campers for this year’s Fargo Nationals. Three former Fargo Champions are technicians for the camp. As with all Howell Camps, the technique is presented in a systematic format. Fargo trained athletes will also be included in all camp competitions and matches. In addition they will get these features:

CURRICULUM COORDINATOR:
A Freestyle and Greco specialist will coordinate techniques taught by featured clinicians. Campers will be schooled with the basic skill drills on day one. Then they will be drilled during each training block to ensure foundational techniques are part of every camper’s vocabulary.

FEATURED CLINICIANS:
Each day campers will get technique from Freestyle and Greco specialists.

Day 1: Sheldon Thomas – 3X Fargo Champion, NCAA Champion
Day 2: Jarron Smith – Olympic Trial Quarterfinalist, University National All-American
Day 3: Brandy Dolt – U.S. Open All-American, DE USAW Womens Wrestling Director
Day 4: Brent Fleetwood – Fargo Champ, 5x Fargo All American (one in Greco, Four in Freestyle)

RED FLAG PRACTICE:
On Day 3, campers are treated with Howell System’s famous RED-FLAG practice. This training event is unlike any other experience. Red Flag will prepare Fargo athletes for any physical adversity they may face in Fargo or in life.

BEST TRAINING PARTNERS:
The Howell System Camp is stock-full of young college wrestlers who have been through the Fargo experience and can push as well as teach.

EXPERIENCE:
The Howells have trained at the highest level and coached at the highest level. They fully understand the Fargo experience and can mentally and physically prepare athletes for this event.
